While trading cards have experienced booming demand in other sports, tennis lacked an annualized trading card program due the absence of a large-scale group license.
Approach
Launch tennis’ first large-scale annualized trading card program with Fanatics and its trading card subsidiary, Topps, securing rights from 300+ players to build a diverse product line including autographs and memorabilia from top stars such as Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, Novak Djokovic, and Aryna Sabalenka.
Impact
Topps has successfully sold out all its tennis releases to date, with Royalty cards achieving resale prices more than double their retail price. Winners Alliance bolstered Topps’ expansion into tennis by facilitating onsite sales at marquee tournaments like the US Open, Australian Open, and Charleston Open, expanding Topps’ market presence and impact.
